The two days Program addresses the cause and effect relationship underlying a particular problem. The primary objective of the technique is to determine the root cause of a defect or problem. The concept of Why Why is applied in Kaizen and lean manufacturing to arrest the root causes of a problem mainly in production and quality work areas. There are three key elements to effective use of the Five Whys technique: (i) accurate and complete statements of problems,(ii) complete honesty in answering the questions, (iii) the determination to get to the bottom of problems and resolve them.
