Maintenance
[FMMI EASTERN BRANCH] TOTAL PRODUCTIVE MAINTENANCE
Scheme: HRDCorp Claimable Courses
Programme Details
Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) is a holistic approach to equipment or machinery maintenance that aims to achieve perfect production or operation by minimizing breakdowns, small stops, slow running, and defects. TPM was developed by Seiichi Nakajima in Japan between 1950-1970. The need of TPM then was obvious - dependency on machinery had rapidly increased in-line with the transformation of IR2 (mass-pro) in manufacturing industries. Unlike human beings hat have built in self-recovery, machinery has natural issue of wear & tear. Beside this, machinery has other issue like sudden breakdown which requires troubleshooting and part replacement. To make machinery delivers its superiority in terms of speed, consistency, accuracy, and being unemotional; human - intervention is needed. TPM has structured and systematic framework on human- machinery support system. As more machines have been developed with many value-added features, the importance of TPM methodology becomes more significant. This training explains about TPM 8-pillars, and all strategic activities required to make machinery operates effectively and efficiently.Fee Details
