Course Overview

Industry 4.0 is the current trend of automation and data exchange in manufacturing includes cyber-physical systems, the Internet of Things and Cloud Computing. Industry 4.0 creates what has been called a "Smart Factory". Within the modular structured smart factories, cyber-physical systems monitor physical processes, create a virtual copy of the physical world and make decentralised decisions. Over the Internet of Services, both internal and cross-organisational services are offered and used by participants of the value chain. This course introduces the concept of Industry 4.0 and illustrate the implementation of Smart Industry Framework using IOT technology.  

Course Objectives

At the end of the programme, participants  should be able to:
  • differentiate the industry framework
  • discuss the technologies involved in Industry 4.0
  • design the Industry 4.0 framework through vertical and horizontal integration
  • design a Smart Industry framework using IoT though emulator and hardware
  • illustrate some scenario of Smart industry in Smart Cities
  • Present the design and case study of Smart Industry
