Chairman's Message

Chairman Profile

Making Industry Future-Ready through Skills, Leadership and Innovation

The FMM Institute stands at a significant moment and so does Malaysian industry. Digitalisation, automation, sustainability, and global competition are reshaping what organisations need from their people. In that environment, workforce development is no longer a support function. It is a strategic driver of competitiveness.

Our mission is clear that is to make industry future-ready through skills, leadership, and innovation. That means moving beyond conventional training and building capabilities that are practical, outcomes-driven, and aligned with what industry actually needs today and tomorrow.

Malaysia's manufacturing sector remains a cornerstone of our economy. But its continued strength depends on how effectively we prepare our workforce for Industry 4.0, greener operations, and the growing complexity of global supply chains. That preparation is the central purpose of this Institute.

We recognise that our members face very different realities. SMEs in particular, operate under genuine resource and capacity constraints, and the Institute is committed to delivering flexible, targeted solutions that are accessible, practical, and consistently high in quality.

Our direction is never set in isolation. We work closely with industry, government, and training partners to ensure our programmes remain connected to national priorities – industrial transformation, talent development, and long-term economic resilience.

As Chairman, my priority is simple: ensure that the FMM Institute earns its place as Malaysia's leading platform for industry-driven workforce development measured not by programmes offered, but by the difference those programmes make.

The future of Malaysian industry will be shaped by the decisions we make today. FMM Institute is committed to making the right ones in genuine partnership with the industry we serve.
